Heavy rains lashed parts of Gujarat’s Valsad part on Saturday night, inundating various low-lying areas. Drone footage watched an aerial view of the devastation caused by the region’s constant rainfall. On Saturday night and Sunday morning, heavy rain pounded the Valsad district, adding to the people’s misery.
Due to heavy rain, the Auranaga River has overflowed, flooding several low-lying areas in Valsad. Everyday life was disrupte as river water enter residential areas in Valsad, and water levels in various rivers swell due to torrential rain.
The water level in the Ahwani River rose, destroying a bridge. As a result, the district administration has restricted people’s movement in the area.
Following the region’s constant rainfall, the areas surrounding the Auranga river became flooded. In addition, after the water level in the Auranga river rose, flooding occurred in some low-lying areas of Valsad.
However, people breath a sigh of relief because no rain was record for more than five hours. Because of the high tide, the water stopped flowing into the sea. After the high tide, water began to flow into the sea, and the water receded significantly.
RAINFALL IS LIKELY.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert, predicting heavy rain in the next 48 hours. The weather service has forecast heavy rainfall with isolated hefty showers in the districts of Dang, Navsari, and Valsad in south Gujarat over the next five days.
