The Nuh police on Friday served notice on Kuber Group director Vikas Malu to join the investigation after the Rolls Royce he was travelling in on August 22 allegedly rammed an oil tanker on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Nuh, killing two people and injuring four others, including Malu, senior officers familiar with the matter said.
Nuh Police on Vikas Malu Rolls Royce crash:
This comes a day after Nuh police organised a special investigation team (SIT) to look into the accident after new information revealed that the luxury automobile was speeding and rear-ended the fuel truck.
Malu’s solicitor, RK Thakur, confirmed receipt of the notice and stated they had submitted a reply stating that Malu would join investigations after he was discharged from the hospital in a week.
“On Monday, he’s going to have elbow dislocation surgery.” He has also sustained lung injuries. He is currently in the hospital rehabilitating and cannot participate in the investigation.
“When the accident happened, his driver Tasbir was driving the Rolls, and Malu was in the back seat with a woman passenger,” he explained.
The car was not speeding:
The woman, named only by her first name, Divya, was released from the hospital and was being treated for rib fractures, according to authorities.
Thakur stated that his client’s car was in a convoy with four other vehicles, and they were on their way to Jaipur for a family celebration.
“The car was not speeding; the motorway speed limit is 120km per hour.” We reviewed the CCTV tape and discovered that my client’s automobile was in their lane. Without using his turn signal, the oil truck driver abruptly turned left to conduct an improper U-turn.
The automobile travelled more than 100 kilometres per hour when the driver failed to use the brakes in time and collided with the truck. “The truck driver was entirely to blame,” he stated.
Further, RK Thakur stated:
According to Thakur, the Rolls-Royce driver has joined the investigation, and the police have recorded his statement.
“Driving below 50 km/h on a motorway is “more risky,” he added, adding that Malu had not asked his driver to drive fast or slow.
According to Narender Bijarniya, superintendent of police in Nuh, the crime investigation agency (CIA) in Nuh handles the inquiry and has identified vehicles and eyewitnesses for questioning. “We will conduct a fair investigation based on evidence and witnesses,” he stated.
