The Bihar Police stated on Saturday that four individuals had been arrested in connection with the murder of a Dainik Jagran journalist who was shot dead at his home in Araria district in the early hours of Friday.

UP Police on Dainik Jagran murder:

“Eight people have been named as accused. Four accused, namely Vipin Yadav, Bhavesh Yadav, Ashish Yadav and Umesh Yadav, have been arrested.

Two accused, Rupesh Yadav and Kranti Yadav, are in Araria jail, and the police are taking them on remand. Two accused are absconding,” news agency ANI cited the Bihar Police.

The journalist was present when his brother was murdered in 2019. According to police superintendent Ashok Kumar Singh, Vimal was shot and killed at 5.30 a.m. on Friday. According to Singh, it appears to be a case of hatred on the surface.

Witness of the murder:

“The journalist was also a key witness to the murder of his elder brother.” He said Vimal was shot in the chest and died on the spot. “…an investigation has begun, and police have been requested to obtain any CCTV footage,” he stated. “An additional investigation is underway.”

Vimal’s wife, Puja Kumari, said they hurried him to the hospital, where physicians declared him dead. “He was a key witness in his brother’s murder and was threatened several times to turn hostile.”
