ICC T20 World Cup 2026 Opening Ceremony: Schedule, Performers, Live Streaming Details

The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is officially launching tonight with a grand opening ceremony at Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium. The 10th edition of this marquee tournament will run from February 7 to March 8, featuring 20 nations competing across India and Sri Lanka. India enters as the defending champions after winning their second title in 2024 with a victory over South Africa.

Star-Studded Performances Light Up Wankhede

The opening ceremony begins at 6 PM IST, transforming the stadium into an immersive stage combining live music and large-scale choreography. Bollywood sensation Badshah will set the stage on fire with an incredible singing performance, followed by Nora Fatehi’s explosive dance routine backed by a massive dance ensemble. Classical percussionist Shivamani and vocalist Rishab Sharma will also perform, creating an unforgettable spectacle celebrating cricket and culture.

How to Watch and Tournament Action

The ceremony will be broadcast live on Star Sports Network, with streaming available on JioHotstar app and website. Only match ticket holders can attend in person. Following the ceremony, three opening day fixtures await: Pakistan vs Netherlands (11 AM, Colombo), West Indies vs Scotland (3 PM, Kolkata), and the highly anticipated India vs USA match (7 PM, Mumbai).

ICC Chairman Jay Shah and India’s captain Rohit Sharma will formally welcome the T20 World Cup Trophy, alongside representatives from all 20 participating nations, officially launching the tournament.
