According to officials, the Union Ministry of Health arranged for an emergency meeting of all its Joint Monitoring Group (JMG) on Monday morning after concern spread over such a new coronavirus mutation strain that is ‘out of control’ throughout the UK.

The JMG meeting will be headed by Director-General Health Services (DGHS). According to news agency PTI, World Health Organization (WHO) India delegate Dr Roderico H Ofrin, who is also a member of the JMG, is likely to take part in the conference.
Several European nations banned flights from the UK:
Since Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who has been adamant until Friday that close families would be able to mix over the festive season, made a U-turn as well as scrapped plans to encourage families to see each other, over 16 million Britons would be expected to stay home for Christmas.
Several European Union countries banned flights from the UK on Sunday as new sanctions came into effect in London after the government warned of the new pressure.
Although the Netherlands has declared a ban on all UK passenger flights, Belgium has issued a 24-hour flight ban and has also stopped train connections to Britain.
France suspended all travel links with the UK for 48 hours:
For 48 hours from midnight on Sunday, France suspended all travel ties with the United Kingdom, and then all flights from the country being banned in Ireland for 48 hours.
Italy has banned all flights from the UK until January 6, as per the BBC. Similar limits have also been levied by Germany, Kuwait, Israel including Austria.
