Google Year in Search 2021: These Were India’s Top Searches This Year

On Wednesday, Google released its ‘Year in Search 2021’ list, which shows what the world searched for the most this year.

On Wednesday, Google published its ‘Year in Search 2021’ list. Which, like every other year, shows what was searched the most topics, trends, personalities, and news on its search engine worldwide.

Cricket fans ensured that two events the ICC T20 World Cup and the Indian Premier League made it to the top five most searched-for subjects on Google in India in 2021. With Cowin, Euro Cup, and Tokyo Olympics occupying the other three spots. In addition, the Indian cricket team was the most-searched-for general term in 2021, with India vs. Australia and India vs. England cricket series ranking in the top five.

Shehnaaz Gill and Raj Kundra ranked third and fourth on the list of most-searched personalities, respectively, with Elon Musk rounding out the top five.

Overall, the top five searches in India were for the Indian Premier League, Cowin, the ICC T20 World Cup. The Euro Cup, and the Tokyo Olympics. Aryan Khan was ranked tenth in India’s overall top searches.

Google posted a video to its official YouTube channel with the caption, “In a year that continued to test many, the world most searched “how to heal” more than ever.” People are seeing ways to come back stronger than before. Whether it’s by taking care of their mental health, honoring a loved one, or reuniting with family.”

There’s also a video of Amanda Gorman, the youngest poet in US history to mark a presidential transition. Speaking at President Joe Biden’s inauguration in January and telling the world, “Even as we grieved, we grew.”
