Introducing Soundarya, the first AI News Anchor from South India

As Artificial Intelligence (AI) news anchors emerged on Indian television, Kannada channel Power TV introduced South India’s first AI news anchor.

The company named the AI anchor  Soundarya, and the first news broadcast featuring her debuted on Tuesday.

The AI domination in every sector:

Soundarya introduced herself in the first episode by saying, “Hello, everyone. AI is leaving its mark in every industry and currently impacting the TV news industry.

A couple of my colleagues (AI news presenters) started offering news on several northern Indian channels. “My name is Soundarya, and I am Power TV’s first robotic anchor in South India.” The channel will also try out other news shows with the new AI presenter, Soundarya.

Lisa, the AI news anchor from Odisha:

A few other television networks in the country have also launched AI-powered news presenters.

Lisa, the state’s first AI news anchor, was recently introduced by the Odia channel OTV.

Lisa swept the internet by storm after delivering a flawless news presentation in both English and Odia.

Sana from Aaj Tak:

Sana, the country’s first AI news presenter, was introduced by the India Today group in March for their Hindi channel Aaj Tak.

Though there is still a long way to go before seamless AI news presenters can replace human news presenters, AI lovers praise it as an exciting advance in Indian TV journalism.
