Jaishankar reviews progress of development projects in Gujarat’s Narmada district

Jaishankar is pleased with the improvement of projects in Gujarat villages embraced by him.

Minister Commends Progress in Health, Education, and Infrastructure Development

Rajpipla, Gujarat – External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar expressed satisfaction over the progress of developmental projects in Narmada district, where he has adopted several villages under the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS).

Three-Day Visit Focused on Ground-Level Review

The minister began a three-day visit to Gujarat on Monday, dedicating two days specifically to the tribal-dominated villages of Narmada district. His itinerary includes visits to multiple villages across different talukas to inspect and review key infrastructure and welfare projects.

Focus on Maternal Health and Emergency Services

On Monday, Jaishankar:

  • Performed a ground-breaking ceremony for a labour and delivery recovery complex for women in Jetpor
  • Laid foundation stones for similar healthcare facilities in Kolvan and Sagai
  • Flagged off a new ambulance in Garudeshwar, also under MPLADS funding

“These are not just projects on paper,” Jaishankar posted on X (formerly Twitter). “The new Health and Wellness Centre in Vyadhar is operational and receiving a very positive response from the community.”

Education and Child Welfare See a Boost

In Amadla village, the minister highlighted how ‘Smart Anganwadis’ are increasing children’s attendance, and interactive digital classrooms are making studies more engaging for students in Grades 7 and 8.

“Great to see students enjoying their studies in a Smart Classroom,” he shared on social media.

Preventive Healthcare on the Rise

The minister emphasized the importance of well-equipped health centres. He noted that such centres are encouraging more preventive health screenings among locals, reflecting a growing public trust in the health system.

“I was told by the medical officer that when people trust a health centre, they come regularly—even for preventive screenings,” he told media personnel.

Commitment to Ground-Level Impact

“As MPs, it is heartening to witness how developmental ideas are being implemented effectively on the ground,” Jaishankar said. “It fills us with happiness to see these efforts making a real difference.”
