Vijay Skips Son Jason’s ‘Sigma’ Promotions Due to CM Duties

Vijay Skips Son Jason’s ‘Sigma’ Promotions Due to CM Duties

Filmmaker Jason Sanjay, son of actor-turned-politician Vijay, has confirmed that his father will not be joining the promotional campaign for his directorial debut ‘Sigma,’ citing the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s packed schedule. Speaking at a recent promotional event for the film, Jason said his father is eagerly awaiting the movie’s release but has deliberately stayed away from its publicity rounds.

Keeping the Spotlight on the Film

Jason explained that he wants audiences to focus on ‘Sigma’ and the effort put in by its cast and crew rather than his father’s star power. “My father is waiting for the release of Sigma. He won’t be promoting my film. I want the promotions to be about the film and not him. I don’t want it to overlap,” he said, adding that Vijay’s new administrative responsibilities as CM leave little room for film promotions. He also spoke of feeling proud when his father took charge as Chief Minister, calling it a happy moment for the whole family.

A Star-Studded Heist Entertainer

‘Sigma’ marks Jason Sanjay’s first outing as a director and is backed by Lyca Productions. The film features Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah in lead roles, supported by a cast that includes Sampath Raj and Shiv Panditt. Music director Thaman S has composed the soundtrack for the project, which is being positioned as a high-energy entertainer.

The film is scheduled to hit theatres in both Tamil and Telugu on October 2, with anticipation building around Jason’s transition from student filmmaker to feature director, even as his father charts a new political chapter.
