The journalist, Vikram Joshi succumbs to the
injuries who had pissed off the goons by writing against them in an article;
Nine arrested by the UP Police.
On Monday night, journalist Vikram Joshi was shot in front of his family, including his two daughters, by goons in Ghaziabad. Vikram was rushed to the hospital, and after fighting for over a day with the wounds, he succumbed to them and passed away on Wednesday morning. Vikram did not respond much to the treatment in the last 24 hours and passed away at 4:15 am in Nehru Nagar’s Yashoda Hospital, revealed the UP police. The journalist had filed a complaint against some men, for allegedly molesting and harassing his niece just four days before the attack. A family member revealed that the last rites of the journalist would be carried out in Ghaziabad.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath announces
compensation for the deceased journalist’s kin:

Adityanath announced
a compensation of INR 10 Lakh for the family of the deceased and expresses his
condolences. The state government announced free education to Vikram’s three
children, along with giving a job to his wife. UP Police made nine arrests
related to the shooting incident, and SSP Ghaziabad Kalanidhi Naithani said,”
We have arrested nine persons and the investigation is still on. We have also
recovered a country-made pistol allegedly used in the crime. The report by the
DSP rank officer will be submitted and strict action will be taken.”

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi scathed a brutal attack on the UP government
and CM Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday, following the death of journalist Vikram
Joshi. Gandhi took to his Twitter and highlighted the fact that the journalist
was killed for opposing the molestation of his niece. Gandhi sent his
condolences and said that the people of UP were promised Ram-Raj but instead
got Gundaraj.
