The five convicts from Vadodara were sentenced to death
on July 26, 2008, in Ahmedabad by bomb blasts. At least 54 people were killed, and more than 200 were injured. The court found 49 of the 78 accused guilty under UAPA (Unlawful Activities (Prevention)). Out of these 49 convicts, 1 convict Ayaz Syed was acquitted while assisting in the investigation. The court acquitted a total of 29 accused on suspicion in the case. The court has convicted five people, including two brothers Kayamuddin Kapadia and Rafiuddin Kapadia from Vadodara, and sentenced them to death in the entire case.
