K Kavitha, daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, dramatically quit the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and her MLC position on Wednesday, alleging a coordinated conspiracy against her within the party ranks.

Speaking tearfully to journalists in Hyderabad, Kavitha claimed that “few leaders in BRS are hostile” towards her and accused her brother KT Rama Rao (KTR) of failing to support her during a malicious campaign. Kavitha specifically targeted her cousins Harish Rao and Santosh Rao, alleging they were responsible for dragging KCR’s name into the Kaleshwaram controversy through clandestine deals with contractors. She claimed these internal disputes had led to a CBI probe against her father.

The suspended MLC, who leads cultural organization Telangana Jagruti, said she had been fighting various causes since her release from Tihar jail but received no justice from her own party. Her departure has triggered speculation about launching a separate political outfit, further deepening the rift within KCR’s family and the BRS leadership.
