People are literally glued to their TV sets and on the internet for the latest updates on the auctions of IPL 2022 and are more than intrigued to know who bought who from the massive players list this year. The IPL 2022 even garnered more headlines for it has included two new teams on the block this year, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants. However, the teams who have always been on the list, like Sunrisers Hyderabad and others too, made much buzz with the players they bided on and bought. We couldn’t help but notice how the camera only panned more on one such owner among the teams; it was Kaviya Maran, the owner of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
Who is Kaviya Maran, you wonder? Well, this young woman is all of 30 years of age and has now become one of the most searched people on the internet since the IPL auctions 2022 are on. She was first seen on the TV during the 2018 IPL season, where she was seen supporting her team. Now, she has taken over the ongoing auctions this season of IPL as the camera keeps panning on her, making people more intrigued about who she really is.
Kaviya Maran is the daughter of Kalanithi Maran, the media baron, who serves as the Chairman and Founder of the Sun Group. Kaviya Maran serves as the co-owner of the IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad and is also involved with SUN Music and SUN TV’s FM channels. Her father happens to be the grand-nephew of M Karunanidhi, the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and politician. Since the start of the auction of IPL 2022, Kaviya Maran was seen at the auction venue in Bengaluru with Tom Moody, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s director, Muttiah Muralitharan, bowling mentor to the team.
She has been trending on social more than Aryan Khan and Suhana Khan, who were also present for the auction for their team.
