Superstar Sonam Kapoor will deliver a spoken word performance to present the Commonwealth virtual choir at the coronation of King Charles.

The enthronement ritual of King Charles III as the 40th ruler of Britain will be seen by guests worldwide, including leaders of state, foreign royals like Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan and King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain, among other notables and leaders.

At this historic time for Britain, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and superstar Sonam Kapoor are among the Indians ready to be there at Westminster Abbey for the monarchical sensation, which was last seen 70 years back when Queen Elizabeth was crowned.

India’s Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar is currently representing the country alongside his wife, Sudesh Dhankhar.

Variety said that Star Sonam Kapoor would give a spoken word performance to present the Commonwealth virtual choir at the coronation. Press agency ANI said two dabbawalas from Mumbai even represented their fraternity at the coronation.

For King Charles, they had a Puneri turban and a shawl created by the Warkari society as a present. The dabbawalas were even invited to King Charles’ marriage with Camilla.

A few Indian community employees linked with King Charles’ charity initiatives are invited to the coronation. Sourabh Phadke, a 37-year-old Pune-born designer educated by Charles’ Foundation’s Building Craft Programme and the Prince’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts, has also been invited to the coronation, PTI said.

Gulfsha, who was given the Prince’s Trust Global Award the previous year, is even on the guest list, as is Indian-origin Jay Patel from Canada.
