After eight teams in IPL 2022, now two new teams have also been included. The two new teams are from Ahmedabad and Lucknow. Bids for both teams were made on Monday. Twenty-two interested companies submitted tenders to buy the team, while 10 parties participated in the bid. In the end, the Ahmedabad team was bought by London-based CVC Capital Partners for Rs 5,625 crore and the Lucknow team by Goenka Group for Rs. 7,090 crores. Gujarat’s leading 3 companies Adani, Torrent and Kotak, participated in the auction process. The total net worth of the three companies is estimated at Rs 7.52 lakh crore. However, they could not spend Rs 5,625 crore for the Ahmedabad IPL team. At the same time, Gautam Adani has let the bid go for only Rs 525 crore. Under these circumstances, the question arises as to whether they wanted to buy the Ahmedabad IPL team or not.

Adani could not spend Rs 525 crore more.

Adani, which has a turnover of billions of rupees, has run out of money to buy the Ahmedabad IPL team. Gautam Adani, the second richest man in Asia and the 20th richest man globally by Forbes, could not take a proud moment to buy an Ahmedabad IPL team despite being a Gujarati.

Gujarat-born Gautam Adani owns Rs 5.62 lakh, but for Rs 525 crore, he lagged in buying the Ahmedabad IPL team. The Ahmedabad team has sold over Rs 5,625 crore in the IPL. Gautam Adani has offered Rs. However, the London-based CVC has bid Rs 5,625 crore to buy the Ahmedabad team. Thus, Gautam Adani has missed this opportunity for Rs 525 crore.

Gujarat-based company Torrent paid Rs. 4,653 crores for the Ahmedabad team, while Kotak had bid Rs. 4,513 crores.

Three Gujarat billionaires return.

Three companies from Gujarat were present in the bid to buy Ahmedabad and Lucknow teams in IPL 2022. In this bid, Adani Pvt. Ltd., Kotak and Torrent Sports participated. Gautam Adani has a net worth of Rs 5.62 lakh crore, Kotak has Rs 1.32 lakh crore, and Torrent Group has a net worth of Rs 52,000 crore. Thus, the total net worth of these three companies can be estimated at Rs 7.52 lakh crore. But, unfortunately, although the three Gujarat-based companies are on India’s richest list, they have not been able to buy the Ahmedabad team for the IPL.

Adani was a strong contender, but CVC

won. The auction for the two IPL teams was processed in Dubai on Monday. Thus, Adani Group was considered the strongest contender for the Ahmedabad team, but CVC Capitals Group won the toss. CVC Capitals Group, a London-based investment firm, has acquired ownership of the Ahmedabad team for the IPL with a bid of Rs 5,625 crore. The most interesting thing is that with CVC buying the Ahmedabad team, its dominance in the world’s largest stadium Narendra Modi Stadium will also increase. The stadium has a capacity of about one and a half lakh people and is equipped with the best modern facilities in the world.

Who is the CVC Capitals Group that bought the Ahmedabad team?

CVC Capitals Group is a leading investment company based in Luxembourg, London. It started 40 years ago, in 1981. The company is headquartered in Luxembourg and has its main office in London.
