Officials reported a seismic event in Gujarat’s Kutch district on Sunday, registering an earthquake of magnitude of 3.3 on the Richter scale. 

The quake occurred shortly after midnight, prompting attention from authorities and residents in the affected region.

Institute of Seismological Research’s Report on Kutch Earthquake: 

News agency PTI quoted the Institute of Seismological Research (ISR) and reported that the earthquake originated at 12:12 a.m., with its epicenter 22 kilometers east-southeast of Khavda. 

The Gandhinagar-based institute provided critical information about the seismic activity, aiding in assessing its impact and potential repercussions.

While registering a magnitude of 3.3, the earthquake is classified as a mild tremor. Despite its relatively lower intensity, seismic events of this nature can still elicit concerns among residents and necessitate precautionary measures to ensure safety and mitigate any potential damages.

The earthquake’s epicenter was pinpointed to be 22 kilometers east-southeast of Khavda, a significant detail provided by the ISR. Understanding the precise location of the seismic activity is crucial for assessing its impact on nearby communities and infrastructure.
