Mercedes-Benz Confirms $24 Million Investment in Maharashtra

Mercedes-Benz has reaffirmed its commitment to invest $24 million in India in 2024. This investment, initially announced in January, aims to strengthen the company’s presence and operations in the Indian market.

The carmaker has emphasized that further investments beyond this initial amount will be contingent upon market conditions and demand.

Statement from Mercedes-Benz:

The company stated, “Mercedes is committed to its current investment plans in India, announced in January, and foresee an investment of about $24 million this year. Any further investments will depend on market demand.”

Discussions with Maharashtra Government:

During a visit to Germany, Maharashtra Industries Minister Uday Samant met with Mercedes-Benz’s top executives to discuss potential investment opportunities in the state.

Following these discussions, Samant announced on social media that Mercedes plans to invest ₹3,000 crore (approximately $364 million) in Maharashtra in 2024, which is expected to create significant employment opportunities within the state.
