A number of active cases in India:

India reported 95,735 new cases of coronavirus disease on Thursday, bringing the number to 44,65,863, according to data from the Union Ministry of Health.

The number of patients discharged from the hospital is 34,71,783. At the same time, The number of active cases is 9,19,018. In the last 24 hours, the disease also claimed 1,172 lives which raised the overall death toll to 75,062, the data from the health ministry showed.

Daily spike of the country:

The country is inching towards yet another bleak 1,00,000 Covid-19 cases daily milestone. It added 95,950 new cases of the disease on Wednesday, data from across states by our sources. No other country has yet crossed the one lakh-mark or even close to it.

The recovery rate of the country:

Meanwhile, the health ministry said Wednesday that the rate of recovery in the country had improved further to 77.77 per cent. It also said that only five states reported 61 per cent of Wednesday’s cases.

`These states, the ministry said, are Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh.

Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said the Covid-19 disease had taught the world how important it is to protect valuable health gains and stressed investing in health and developing a strong healthcare delivery system with a focus on rural areas.

Representing India at Wednesday’s 73rd session of the World Health Organization (WHO) Southeast Asia Region, he highlighted the country’s giant steps to protect the lives and livelihoods of its people from the pandemic under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Evidence shows that Covid-19 has already disrupted a lot of our efforts and brought us back to where we were 20 years before. This is a strong truth, and we need to be mindful of it.

 We did not leave any stones unturned on our part to contain and mitigate the virus. I would say that India has reacted well to the pandemic challenges, “he said at the virtual session.
