New Variant of Covid “Deltacron” spotted by Researchers in Cyprus. Real of Lab mistake?

What is Deltacron:

The world is busy fighting with Delta and Omicron and comes to a combo of both in Cyprus. News source CNBC and BLOOMBERG says Cyprus researcher believes a new variant of covid is possible Its too early to write on this as it is breaking recent news without any official approval of Govt or scientists around the world. 

Bloomberg report on Deltacron:

As per the Bloomberg report, Professor Leaondios Kostrikis working at the University of Cyprus has given the new name to “Deltacron.” The name of the virus is given as it is a combination of Delta and Omicron. 

Does Deltacron really exist?

The impact of Deltacon is not out as cases are very few as the sources. So what is the effect of is not possible to say. It’s too early to write sincerely about this case. 

A researcher in Cyprus found a Coronavirus strain that incorporates the delta and omicron variant, Bloomberg News reported on Saturday 9th Jan 2022.

(Leondios Kostrikis, professor of biological sciences at the University of Cyprus, called the strain “deltacron” because of its omicron-like genetic signatures within the delta genomes.) From Bloomberg.

Kostrikis researcher:

Kostrikis and his team have discovered 25 cases of the virus. As per them, it is still too premature to tell whether there are more strain cases or their effects.

“Will soon find about this strain and see whether this is real or not. This statement was given to Sigma TV on 7th Jan 2022. He believes omicron will also overtake deltacron, he added.

According to Bloomberg, the researchers sent their findings this week to GISAID, an international database that tracks viruses.
