India’s Nikhat Zaryn won the gold medal in the 52 kg category at the Women’s World Boxing Championship. Defeating Thai Jitpong Jutamas in the flyweight final in Istanbul, Turkey, Thursday in Istanbul, Turkey. This makes Nikhat only the fifth Indian boxer after Mary Com, Sarita Devi. Jenny R.L., and Leha KS, who won gold at the World Championships. Zaryn, 25, is a former youth world champion. In the final against his Thai opponent, Nikhat fought brilliantly and won the gold medal. The referee decided the match 30-27, 29-28, 29-28, 30-27, 29-28 for the Indian player.
Nikhat Zarin is at her best, using her technical talent and covering well to outsmart her agile opponent.
Nikhat managed to impress all the judges in the first round as he dealt more punches than the Thai boxer. The second half was more intense, and Jitpong won 3-2. It was also India’s first gold medal after boxing excellent Mary Com won it in 2018.
