Shardul Thakur, Bumrah and Natrajan descent bowling and Kohli’s innings with the firepower of Gujju boys Sir Jadeja and Pandya helped India win the first match in Australia in this ODI series 2020-21. India almost lost the match, and we felt like whitewash in ODI is near but lucky this time bowlers stood up for the team.
India scored 302 thanks to Kohli, Hardik Pandya and Sir Ravindra Jadeja:
At last, Kohli won the toss India batted first for the first time in the series. Dhawan got a new partner for this match, young Shubham Gill in place of Agarwal. Very poor selection, we feel it has been a problem of Indian unit now from the past few years. Strongly feel Kohli and Ravi Shastri not picking the right team. The career of Pandey is passing through hell all thanks to team selection. Agarwal is not in the team’s very poor decision. Shardul should have been picked in the second match if he was there in the 2nd match then the result might have been different in place of Saini.
Coming to the match, India lost wickets after a small start Shubham Gill played well for his 33runs. Kohli played a good knock of 63, but Shreyas Iyer and Rahul failed to score. No doubt Shreyas is a fabulous player, but we can’t give him more and more chances like this when we have Pandey on the bench. Totally unfair with Pandey.
Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja showed Gujarati Power to Aussies:
It all started with Pandya’s beautiful batting from him and then Bapu joined the party. Sir Ravindra Jadeja once again proved why he deserves a place in the team. Jadeja scored fantastic 66runs, and Hardik Pandya scored a match-saving 92runs for the team. Both had the highest partnership for 6th wicket against Australia and that too in Australia.
Manjrekar got the sword answer once again from Sir Jadeja and also Pandya:
When the series started, he told Harsha and McGrath about the place of Pandya and Jadeja. Seems to gather attention by pointing to the names of these two Gujju boys. But Gujarati star players of the Indian team showed why they are in the team. Jadeja bowled well in the entire series and batted too. I don’t know why he always talks about Jadeja and underestimates his capabilities. Everyone knows that he bowls to stop run rate; he is not in the team for taking wickets. He saves 10 to 20runs and also bats well when the team needs an inning from him. Now, what can a player do? He is batting, bowling and best fielder of the Indian team and still Manjrekar feels he should not be in the team. Seriously he wants some attention on the name of Jadeja who always proves him wrong.
Pandya and Jadeja’s innings helped India reach 302runs. Zampa and Agar bowled well for Australia rest all got punished.
Australia almost won the match and gave India a Whitewash but lost a match at the final stage:
Australia lost Marnus Labuschagne early Finch played a good inning of 75runs. But there Mr Dependent Smith got out in the bowling of Shardul Thakur and India were right at the top. But this match was full of Masala. Comes Maxwell the big show looked extremely dangerous and almost took the match away from India he scored brilliant 59runs.
This time Indian bowlers were ready in the final stages. Natrajan, Bumrah and Shardul held their nerves and took wickets at regular intervals. Shardul Thakur was the main bowler today and took three big wickets at the right time. Yes, Natrajan went for runs, but he bowled well when India needed him the most of him.
Australia lost the match by 13runs all thanks to good performance by the Indian team. Match heroes Pandya, Jadeja and Shardul Thakur. Thank God! we didn’t face whitewash.
This Australia vs India ODI series 2020-21 India lost. Because of poor bowling performance and poor team selection and We also felt like lack of Intent from many players like Rahul, Dhawan too gave away wicket at the wrong time in two matches. Second thing India is over-dependent on Bumrah. He needs support from other bowlers. Yes, it was a dead rubber in all three matches, but No bowler in the first two bowlers stood up as per experience.
Team selection is a big problem now in the India cricket team. Why change Agarwal in the third match? Why is Pandey not getting selected? If shardul would have got the chance in place of Saini surely the result would have been different. Poor fielding looked like butterfingers in all three matches surely below standard Feilding at the international level. Poor captaincy from Kohli too he makes too many changes in starting especially in shifting fast bowlers. India didn’t even try Pandya or Jadeja as a pinch hitter in the first two matches.
Let’s see how India goes in 20-20. Surely Australia has the advantage as Smith; openers are in good form. India needs a good start, and the main man Kohli needs to play with aggression. Kohli should continue to play with his aggressive attitude because he plays best in that way. We need Bumrah form back and one spinner who can give stability to Indian bowling.
