It looked like NZ would win the second test, but Carey, Marsh, and the most dangerous player of the recent era, Cummins, took a match from NZ on the fourth day. They have won all the tournaments and crucial matches since 2021 under Cummins’ captaincy.
This Australian team is different from in the 2000s under Waugh and Ponting, but winning all tournaments like T20worldcup, Test Championship, and ODI World shows they have the same formula as Waugh had in his time.
We saw the Australian team most threatening and unbeatable in the Ponting era. They were too good to be beaten by any team in all formats. This current team is not as strong as that, but they are still winning, just as Ponting won in his captaincy.
Cummins is the most underrated Legend of this era:
Cummins is a player who has silently threatened all the batters with his accurate bowling for many years now. He is best as Bumrah and many other top bowlers in all formats. His batting, too, has improved a lot over the last four years. His contribution first was just as a bowler. With time, he also contributed with his batting and became an unsung and silent allrounder. AUSvsNZ’s second test is the best example of it.
Cummins’s bowling, batting, captaincy, and luck are significant factors in helping Australia win all the big tournaments in 2021. No big stars are performing; Steven Smith and Labuschagne Warner are all passing through tough times.

The good thing for Cummins and Australia is that bowling clicks at the right time. Starc, Lyon, and Hazlewood have contributed very well in important matches. Travis Head and Marsh’s recent high has also boosted the Australian team.

Australia has won everything since 2021 and will not be surprised if they also win the 2024 T20 World Cup. They have excellent bowling and also a powerful batting lineup.
