Google has revealed Pixel 7 Pro Super Res Zoom Camera Samples from an Upgraded Telephoto Camera.

Google recently shared images of the Pixel 7 Pro following the launch of its flagship smartphone on Thursday. The photos captured demonstrate the capabilities of the Pixel 7 Pro’s Super Res Zoom feature, which debuted alongside the standard Pixel 7 model. The gallery includes three photographs taken in Manhattan, San Francisco, and Mendocino, California. The first set focuses on the One World Trade Center, with images ranging from 0.5x zoom from afar to 30x zoom, showcasing fine details of the primary antenna.

Google’s Group Product Manager Alexander Schiffhauer shared the gallery and was also present at the ‘Made by Google’ event, where he detailed the Pixel 7 Pro zoom enhancements. The Super Res Zoom technology initially crops the images captured by the 50-megapixel primary camera after 2x zoom.

The upgraded 5x 48-megapixel telephoto camera and Super Res Zoom kick in when zooming in further. It uses Google’s Tensor G2 SoC’s processing power for its new machine learning autofocus algorithm.

Furthermore, Zoom Stabilization aids in the capture of detailed images at magnifications of 15x, 20x, and up to 30x.

On Thursday, the Pixel 7 Pro debuted alongside the standard Pixel 7. Only the Pro model has the triple rear camera setup, which includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor, and a 48-megapixel telephoto camera. The standard Pixel 7 only has a 50-megapixel dual rear camera setup.

The phone has a 6.7-inch Quad-HD LTPO OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It is powered by the second-generation Tensor G2 SoC and runs Android 13 out of the box. It has up to 256GB of internal storage. This is a 5G smartphone with Bluetooth v5.2, NFC, and Wi-Fi 6E. A USB Type-C port is also provided for wired charging and data transfer.
