Amaravati: Foundation of Andhra’s Future, Says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a large gathering during the foundation-laying ceremony of Amaravati, hailed the city as the embodiment of Andhra Pradesh’s modern aspirations. Describing Amaravati as a “dream turning into reality,” the Prime Minister underscored its pivotal role in transforming the state into a hub for cutting-edge technology, sustainable growth, and industrial excellence.

“Amaravati is not just a city. It is a Shakti — a force that will empower Andhra Pradesh to become adhunik (modern),” PM Modi declared, drawing loud applause from the audience. He emphasized that the development of Amaravati would fulfill the dreams of the youth, who look forward to opportunities in fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), green energy, and future industries.

The Prime Minister reiterated the Centre’s commitment to supporting Andhra Pradesh’s growth, assuring that the central government would act with unprecedented speed to turn the vision of Amaravati into a reality. “This city will be the engine of growth, and the government of India will stand shoulder to shoulder with Andhra Pradesh to build it,” he said.

PM Modi also spoke warmly of his longstanding association with Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Recalling his days as Gujarat’s Chief Minister, Modi said he closely followed Naidu’s governance model in Hyderabad. “Our Chandrababu Naidu talked about me being tech-savvy. But I want to say that I learnt a lot from him. He was ahead of his time when it came to technology and urban development,” PM Modi said.

Highlighting Naidu’s expertise in executing large-scale projects, the Prime Minister said, “Be it future technology or mega infrastructure works, Chandrababu Naidu is the man for it. His vision and execution skills are unmatched. That’s why I am confident this dream of Amaravati will be built quickly and with the highest standards.”

Modi’s remarks signaled strong political and developmental backing for the revival of Amaravati as the state’s capital, which had been stalled in recent years. With the Centre and state leadership aligned, expectations are high that Amaravati will become a symbol of progress and a gateway to a new Andhra Pradesh.

The foundation ceremony marks not just the beginning of infrastructure development but also a renewed hope among citizens who envision a thriving, tech-enabled capital city driving growth for decades to come.
