PM Modi Condemns Jerusalem Terror Attack That Killed Six

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday strongly condemned the deadly terrorist attack in Jerusalem that claimed six lives and left several others injured. In a statement posted on social media platform X, Modi extended heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families and wished speedy recovery for the wounded.

India’s Zero Tolerance Stance on Terrorism

“Strongly condemn the heinous terrorist attack on innocent civilians in Jerusalem today,” Modi stated, emphasizing India’s unwavering position against terrorism. He reiterated that India “condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations” and “stands firm in its policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism.”

The attack occurred at Ramot Junction on Yigal Yadin Street in east Jerusalem during morning hours. According to preliminary reports from Times of Israel, two gunmen boarded a public bus and opened fire on passengers, creating panic among commuters and pedestrians.

Security Response and Aftermath

Israeli emergency services confirmed that the terrorists involved in the attack were neutralized during the incident. Dramatic footage from the scene showed people fleeing from a bus stop at an intersection near Jerusalem’s northern entrance as the shooting unfolded.

The attack came just hours after Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz issued an ultimatum to Hamas, demanding they surrender and warning of “annihilation” if they refused to lay down arms. This timing has raised concerns about potential escalation in the region’s already tense security situation.

The international community continues to monitor developments as Israeli authorities investigate the incident and work to maintain public safety in the aftermath of this tragic attack.
