PM Modi To Attend Dussehra Ravana Dahan In East Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to participate in Dussehra celebrations organized by the IP Extension Ramlila Committee in East Delhi’s Patparganj area on Thursday, October 2, 2025. The PM is scheduled to arrive at the venue around 6 PM and will take part in the traditional Ravana Dahan ceremony, which symbolizes the eternal triumph of good over evil.

This marks a continuation of Modi’s tradition of celebrating Dussehra with the public in Delhi. Last year, he attended the prestigious Luv Kush Ramlila at Red Fort grounds alongside President Droupadi Murmu, where they jointly lit the effigies of Ravana, Meghnath, and Kumbhkaran. During that event, the Prime Minister emphasized the festival’s timeless message of courage, peace, and truth.

PM’s Vision for Social Harmony

In 2023, Modi joined festivities at DDA ground in Dwarka, where he presented ten pledges for citizens to adopt, including supporting underprivileged families. He called for national unity by discarding social evils such as casteism and regionalism, emphasizing that Vijayadashami represents social harmony and collective strength.

The Prime Minister has consistently highlighted the significance of shastra pooja (weapon worship) on Vijayadashami, noting that in Indian tradition, weapons are worshipped not for aggression but for protecting national sovereignty.

Security Preparations Underway

Authorities are preparing elaborate security arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit to IP Extension, with a large crowd expected to attend the celebrations. In his Vijayadashami message posted on social media platform X, PM Modi wrote, “Vijayadashami is a symbol of the victory of good and truth over evil and untruth. My wish is that on this sacred occasion, everyone receives the inspiration to continuously progress on the path of courage, wisdom, and devotion.”

The event promises to be a significant gathering, bringing together thousands of devotees to witness the traditional burning of effigies and celebrate the festival’s message of righteousness prevailing over darkness.
