PM Modi: “I’m Shiva’s Devotee, Will Swallow Poison”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a fierce counterattack against the Congress party today, declaring himself a devotee of Lord Shiva who will “swallow the poison” of abuses directed at him. Speaking at a gathering in Assam’s Darang after inaugurating several projects, the PM addressed the ongoing controversy over verbal attacks targeting him and his late mother, Heeraben Modi.

PM’s Emotional Response to Congress Ecosystem

“I know, the whole Congress ecosystem will target me and say Modi is crying again. The people are my God; if I don’t express my pain before them, where will I do it? They are my masters, my deities, and my remote control,” Modi told the audience. The Prime Minister emphasized that the people serve as his only guidance system, rejecting any external influence over his decisions.

The controversy erupted following verbal abuses made from an RJD-Congress stage during a recent political campaign in poll-bound Bihar. While the Congress has maintained that none of its leaders were present when the remarks were made, tensions escalated further when a row emerged over Congress allegedly creating an AI-generated video featuring the Prime Minister’s mother.

Strategic Use of “Remote Control” Reference

Modi’s reference to people as his “remote control” carries particular significance, as he has previously used this term to criticize opposition leaders. In the past, he accused former UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi of controlling ex-PM Manmohan Singh and alleged that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge is remote-controlled by the Gandhi family.

The Prime Minister’s invocation of Lord Shiva, known for consuming poison to save the world, positions him as someone willing to bear personal attacks for the greater good of the nation.
