PM Modi Urges Unity, Condemns Abusive Remarks in Late-Night Video

Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a late-night video message on social media condemning abusive language, stating that hostility solves nothing and calling for citizens to guide those who have gone astray and work together for the nation. The message came a day after a 25-year-old woman from Noida was booked over allegedly derogatory comments made against the Prime Minister during a student protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar.

Push for Exam System Reforms

Beyond addressing the controversy, Modi used the video to outline the government’s ongoing push to make India’s examination system more reliable. He pointed to fast-track mechanisms and inputs gathered from state governments as part of a broader effort to modernize how exams are conducted and monitored. He acknowledged that leaked papers have troubled successive governments for decades, undermining the prospects of countless students, and said greater use of technology was now essential to fix the problem.

New Anti-Paper Leak Law

Modi also referenced legislation recently cleared by Parliament targeting those responsible for paper leaks, describing it as a firm warning to networks that compromise examinations and jeopardize students’ futures. He noted that lawmakers in both houses had debated the bill extensively over two days before passing it, calling it a significant milestone in restoring public trust in the exam process. He added that further reforms would follow to prevent such issues from persisting.

Closing his message, the Prime Minister called on citizens to move forward together in pursuit of a developed India, framing both the fight against toxic public discourse and the push for institutional reform as part of the same collective effort toward national progress.
