Amitabh Bachchan Kamal Hassan coming together after decades in Project K

Kamal Haasan will be seen as the rival in the Nag Ashwin directorial; Project K. Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani also feature in the movie.

Veteran star Kamal Haasan has joined the cast of Nag Ashwin’s multilingual sci-fi film Project K, the makers revealed on Sunday. Prabhas and Deepika Padukone headline the movie, which even features Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani. Nag Ashwin is helming with it.

The big-budget movie is made by C Aswani Dutt, founder of Vyjayanthi Movies. Production house Vyjayanthi Movies shared Kamal Haasan’s casting announcement on its official Twitter handle. The tweet said, “Welcoming the greatest actor Ulaganayagan @ikamalhaasan. Our journey has become Universal now. #ProjectK.” 

The announcement video showed some clips from Kamal Haasan’s critically-acclaimed films and introduced him as Ulaga Nayagan (universal hero), the enemy in the movie.

Amitabh Bachchan greeted Kamal on board. He wrote on Sunday, “Welcome Kamal .. great working with you again .. it’s been a while!”

C Aswani Dutt is funding the project in the 50th year of the production house’s start. The film will be released in theatres on January 12, 2024, in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.

Project K is a science-fiction movie produced on a massive budget and celebrates the maiden partnership between Prabhas and Nag Ashwin of Mahanati fame. Several posters starring Deepika and Prabhas’ silhouettes were enough to excite the movie.
