Bandra pub fight: customers beaten brutally by bouncers; watch video

The Bandra pub’s bodyguards intervened in a fight between two groups of customers sitting at neighbouring tables, leading to the issue escalating to an assault.

The Bandra cops on Saturday charged seven employees of a famous pub for allegedly attacking two patrons in the early morning hours. 

According to the Bandra police, the incident took place at around 1 am on Saturday when a fight broke out between two groups of people.

“The two groups were sitting at neighbouring tables and had already disagreed earlier. When one of the groups opened a bottle of champagne, some spilt on the other group, triggering a full-fledged row.”

“The bouncers at the pub intervened, and the group that had taken offence to the spilt champagne turned on the bouncers instead,” said an official with the Bandra cops.

The bodyguards and other employees allegedly moved to assault two of the customers severely. Clips of the incident, which later went viral on the internet, show the two customers being attacked from the bar to the elevator with rods, leading to wounds.

Meanwhile, some observers called the cop’s control room and informed the police about the incident. The news was forwarded to the Bandra police, and a unit was sent to the bar immediately. 

The two customers were rushed to the Bhabha Hospital in Bandra, where they were treated for wounds. Later, an investigation was launched into the incident. 

“Based on the complaint received, an FIR was filed, and seven pub staffers, including the manager, were identified and arrested. They were later released on bail,” stated Deputy Commissioner of Police Krishnakant Upadhyay, Zone IX.
