R Praggnanandhaa beats Magnus a young Indian Grandmaster, stunned world number one Magnus Carlsen in an online rapid chess tournament’s eighth round of the Airthings Masters.

R Praggnanandhaa beats Magnus and won a Tarrasch variation game with black pieces in 39 film on Monday, snapping Carlsen’s three-game winning streak.

After eight rounds, the Indian GM is tied for 12th place with eight points. His stunning victory over Carlsen follows a mediocre run in the earlier rounds. Including a single win over Lev Aronian, two draws, and four defeats.

He tied Anish Giri and Quang Liem Le, but lost to Eric Hansen, Ding Liren, Jan-Kryzstof Duda, and Shakhriyar Mamedyarov.

Russia’s Ian Nepomniachtchi, who lost the world championship match to Norway’s world number one Carlsen a few months ago. Leads the standings with 19 points, followed by Ding Liren also Hansen (both on 15 points).

In the precursory rounds of the Airthings Masters, a 16-player online rapid tournament. A player receives three points for a win also one point for a draw. In the preliminary round, there are 7 more rounds to go.
