MNS chief Raj Thackeray said that the ground-breaking ceremony should be held with great devour and felt the current Bhoomi pujan should not happen amid the pandemic.

On Friday, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray said that the “Bhoomi pujan” of the Ram temple in Ayodhya is not required amid the COVID-19 pandemic and should be organized later when things get normalized. The Maharashtra politician called the ceremony scheduled to be held on August 5, as “unneeded” and also rejected the state’s chief minister i.e. his brother, Uddhav Thackeray’s suggestion for “e-Bhoomi Pujan”.

Raj Thackeray wishes that the Bhoomi pujan should have been done with great devour:
Thackeray stated that such a monumental ceremony should be held with great devour. The MNS chief spoke to a Marathi news channel and said,” The Bhoomi pujan is not required at this time as people are in a different mindset right now. It could have been held after two months when things normalize. People would have enjoyed the ceremony then.”

Raj Thackeray makes a sly dig on Uddhav Thackeray:
Thackeray criticized his brother’s government’s handling of the COVID-19 situation in the state and put stress on eliminating the fear from the people’s minds by making them more aware of the deadly disease. Raj stated,” It is important to help people come out of this fear. The restrictions imposed by the state government, news on TV channels and messages on WhatsApp have all led to a kind of chaos. You need to make people feel relaxed. The MNS chief also advocated for the resumption of economic activities, citing concerns over the financial crisis and job losses in the state of Maharashtra. Raj also said that his cousin, Uddhav Thackeray’s work can be seen only on TV. Raj said that his cousin’s work in the last four and a half to five months is almost invisible.
