Rana Naidu, the Indian adaption of Ray Donovan, has been extended for a second season. Rana Daggubati, who plays the show’s major character, announced a summary video of the first season on Twitter.

Daggubati plays a character in Rana Naidu who physically cleans up the filth of his high-profile clients for a career. He’s dubbed “the star fixer.” It also features Rana’s real-life uncle, Venkatesh Daggubati, who plays Rana’s father, Naga Naidu, in the programme. “Couldn’t get enough of your love,” Rana wrote on Twitter. The Naidus are hard at work organizing season 2 of #RanaNaidu, which will be released soon (sic).”

In response to the tweet, several others commented that they couldn’t wait for the next season. “Cracker of a show,” one person said. I hope the second season is also enjoyable. “I can’t wait” (sic). “Waiting for the show,” another user remarked. Please make Venkatesh sir’s character (sic) longer.”

Rana Naidu is Rana’s first collaboration with his uncle Venkatesh, a seasoned performer in the Telugu profession. The programme, created by Suparn Verma and Karan Anshuman, was highly welcomed, despite a mixed reaction from a crowded segment due to its excessive use of expletives.

Rana was asked about his experience cussing at his real-life uncle in the programme in a pre-release interview with Galatta Plus. “I was a little nervous because he was my uncle.” I mean, guy, I play awful people. So, by the time we got together (for the series), the characters were well-defined, and we were already immersed in them. It was also in Hindi, which was not our first language.

So it was the actors who did it. But it got really weird when I started dubbing it in Telugu because I felt like I was discovering a new show. ‘Oh, God, I would never have uttered this to him because it was too close to home.’ So, we fared well in Hindi since we didn’t know enough filthy terms and stuff,” Rana explained.
