A MiG 21 fighter jet of the Indian Air Force crashed in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district, causing the death of two civilians on the ground. 

Luckily the pilot of the MiG 21 jet is safe, says District Collector Rukmani Riar. News agency According to PTI, Additional Superintendent of Police Jassaram Bose.

This comes only days after an Indian Army helicopter carrying two pilots and a mechanic crashed in a woodland area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district.

According to the Indian Army, the three injured men were injured and brought to the Command Hospital in Udhampur.

The MiG-21 aircraft, in all of its variants, has been involved in the most crashes in the IAF. 

Many investigations were conducted into the disasters amid complaints of this aircraft’s poor safety record, with more than 170 pilots losing their lives in accidents, according to data released by the Defence Ministry in the past. 

More than 20 planes have crashed since 2010, while 38 planes have crashed in the ten years between 2003 and 2013. The aircraft’s high rate of accidents earned it the moniker “Flying Coffin.”
