Gujarat Titans fast bowler Yash Dayal created controversy on Monday by sharing an unpopular story on his Instagram account. Dayal was a member of the GT team that advanced to back-to-back IPL finals and won the title last season.

Yash Dayal shared a narrative, which he immediately removed before regretting posting it by ‘mistake’.

However, screenshots of his story quickly went viral on social media, and he quickly became one of the top topics on Twitter.

“Guy’s (sic) apologies for the story. It was just posted by mistake plz don’t spread hate,” he said later in a different post.

“Thank you (I) have respect for each & every community n (and) society,” he continued.

Dayal, 25, is a left-arm fast bowler who plays for Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket. GT purchased him at the IPL mega auctions last year for a hefty Rs 3.2 crore.

He took 11 wickets in 9 games last season as GT won the title in their very first season, defeating Rajasthan Royals in the final.

The IPL 2023, on the other hand, was a dismal experience for the teenager, as he only grabbed two wickets in five matches.

He was pulled from GT’s playing XI after allowing 69 runs in a league match against KKR. In that match he was smashed with 5 sixes in a row by Rinku Singh.
