India’s Coronavirus tally rose to 21,53,011, and the death toll in the nation reaches 43,379; Amit Shah tests negative.

Till Saturday 9 am, India reported its highest single-day rise in the total number of COVID-19 cases, with 64,399 fresh infections registered in the last 24 hours. The huge spike has increased the coronavirus tally of the country to 21,53,011. For an eleventh consecutive day, cases in India remained above 50,000 mark. India has registered whopping 60,000-plus daily infections for the past three days. India is third on the list of countries affected due to the global pandemic, behind Brazil and the US, but has been registering the highest number of daily cases in the world for five consecutive days. The country also witnessed 861 new deaths, which took the death toll to 43,379. As per the latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Affairs, 14,80,885 patients have recovered from the deadly disease, and the total number of active coronavirus infections stands at 628,747. 

Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal tests positive for the novel COVID-19 virus:

On late Saturday night, Minister of State Arjun Ram Meghwal, in a tweet revealed that due to some peculiar symptoms he took the Coronavirus test and tested negative in the first test, but unfortunately, he had tested positive for the novel COVID-19 virus in the second test. The Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Heavy industries had previously said that a brand of papad had ingredients that will boost immunity and help the person defeat coronavirus. He endorsed that brand and his viral video created a stir on social media, with netizens criticizing and trolling the unscientific claims.

Amit Shah tests Coronavirus negative:

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in the latest tests, has tested negative for the coronavirus, BJP leader Manoj Tiwari tweeted the news.
