RDJ says the original Iron Man suit blinded him:
Robert Downey Jr appeared in a Show called “my next guest needs no introduction.” In the show, he expressed how things changed from Iron Man to Avengers endgame.
He compared how things changed from actually wearing the suit to mostly a CGI appearance. RDJ recalls donning the suit for the first time in Iron Man and donning the last time in Avengers Endgame.
Robert was a part of Marvel for more than a decade, throughout 22 movies.
Robert Downey Jr explains how hard it was to shot a scene with the suit’s helmet on. He stated that the makers wanted to spend as little as they could on CGI replacement.
There was a scene in which he had to wear the whole suit and walk. The scene was about landing on a roof. So when the makers say action, he had to walk with the suit in the manner the makers have asked for.
But when he wore the whole helmet and closed he could barely see anything. He noted that it was like The Manchurian Candidate as he was “absolutely blinded” during the scene.
Robert further speaks about how things changed. The makers asked RDJ to put on the helmet while filming the last Avengers movie.
He then recalled his experience with the helmet for the first time and then hinted the makers to put on a CGI helmet.
