Russia launches missiles on Ukraine’s nuclear plant; nine people dead

At least nine people have died, and electricity at Europe’s giant nuclear plant has been lost after Russia launched air strikes across Ukraine.

The invasions struck cities from Kharkiv in the north to Odesa in the south and Zhytomyr in the west.

Russia launches another missile attack on Ukraine:

Buildings and infrastructure were whipped in Kharkiv and Odesa, with electricity blackouts in some areas. Invasions in the capital Kyiv are even reported.

Ukraine said Russia launched 81 missiles in the biggest attacks in weeks.

The military claimed it successfully hit down 34 cruise air strikes and fired four of the eight Iranian-made Shahed drones.

The invasions mark the biggest day of Russian air strikes on Ukraine since the end of January when 11 people perished after dozens of structures were struck in several areas. 

In Thursday’s raids, at least five people died in Lviv in western Ukraine after a missile hit their house, the area’s governor Maksym Kozytskyi wrote on Telegram.

Russian shelling killed three people in the southern area of Kherson, where Ukraine’s presidential chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, struck a public transport stop.

While one person perished, and two others were wounded following drone and rocket strikes in the Dnipropetrovsk area, according to governor Serhii Lysak.
