Salman Khan has delivered a mixed bag of films in recent years, with Bajrangi Bhaijaan falling into the ‘good movie’ category. The film was in the news a few months ago because of its sequel. However, the project has now been announced by the star himself.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan released in 2015, became one of the highest-grossing films in Bollywood history. In India, it earned more than 300 crores. In addition, it grossed over 900 crores worldwide, making it Bollywood’s second highest-grossing film after Aamir Khan’s Dangal. Now, Salman has confirmed that a new blockbuster is in the works.
Salman Khan attended the RRR pre-release event in Mumbai yesterday. He was joined by Karan Johar, SS Rajamouli, Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, and Shriya Saran. Then, unexpectedly, Salman made an official announcement for Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2, providing fans with exciting news.
Salman Khan has also confirmed that SS Rajamouli’s father, renowned writer KV Vijayendra Prasad, will pen Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2. (who had written Bajrangi Bhaijaan). He even talked about how Prasad gave him one of the best films of his career.
Meanwhile, Kabir Khan recently surprised fans by revealing that he will not direct Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Kabir Khan stated, “I am primarily a storyteller.” I believe that once I’ve completed that film, I’ll be finished with that story. So that character is no longer a part of me.
That character is no longer a part of my life. I’m always curious about what happened to these characters after the film. “I have a storey in my head, but it hasn’t piqued my interest enough to go back and write a storey with those characters.”
