On Thursday, the Internet giant Twitter took a completely unexpected step for everyone. As they have removed the verified Twitter Blue Tick from all the accounts.
Now the Blue Tick will only be available for the users who are paying for a Twitter Blue subscription, which will cost them around USD 8/month via the web and USD 11/month via the in-app payment on Android and iOS.
The verified Blue Tick, which has now been removed, was initially used to be given to public figures, celebrities, Sports players and Politicians.
As soon as Tesla CEO Elon Musk took over Twitter, he introduced the Twitter Blue Tick subscription model. In this model, the users who have paid for the Blue Tick Subscription will get the blue badge, whereas there will be a golden tick badge for the businesses.

In 2009, the blue badge was introduced for public figures to reduce the false and misleading Twittes and to identify their fake ID. As earlier, there were no charges for the Twitter Blue Tick badge.
Elon Musk, who took over the social media network in April 2022, is known for his business experiments and changes.
Within two weeks of the company’s acquisition, Musk launched Blue Tick with the checkmark emblem as one of the premium rewards in several world regions.
However, the legacy blue tick badges have not been removed from the accounts of people of public importance overnight.
Twitter announced through their official handle in March 2023, “On April 1st, we will begin winding down our legacy verified programme and removing verified checkmarks.” Individuals can sign up for Twitter Blue to preserve their blue checkmark on Twitter.”
