For her remarks on actor Kangana Ranaut’s supposed lack of ‘decency’ and ‘respect,’ Singer Sona Mohapatra lashed at jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali.
Farah had criticised Kangana for addressing Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray of Maharashtra as ‘Tujhe.’
Sona Mohapatra in her Tweet:
Sona wrote on Twitter, hitting out at Farah, “Oh, now. What is it that most concerns you??? ‘Race,’ ‘decency’ & speaking manner? Entering the home of Kangana & breaking it down was Mumbai’s worst travesty of recent times & an utter misuse of state machinery & # thuggery against a person. It makes us all feel unsafe. “But now the tweet has been deleted.
Kangana had previously sent a video message to Uddhav after its office was partially demolished by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) over suspected illegal buildings. Farah had said Kangana ‘didn’t have the dignity’ to address the Maharashtra CM politely.
Farah had called Kangana full of vainglory in a series of tweets and said, “Furthermore she did not have the courtesy to answer the Maharashtra CM. How would she dare say ‘Tujhe’? He represents the Maharashtra people and while addressing. The class will decide ‘Aap’ not ‘Tujhe kya lagta hai, deserves respect for office!
“I may have a hundred complaints against some political leaders, but I have never personally treated someone with disrespect.
I will never do so because I brought up to show courtesy to the uniform and elected officials even though I disagree with their decisions,” she wrote in another message.
Kangana in her video:
Kangana posted a video on Wednesday addressing Uddhav, in which she said in Hindi, “Uddhav Thackeray, do you think you got revenge from me by colluding with the movie mafia and demolishing my house? My house demolished today, but tomorrow, your ego will crumble. Time is going to adjust.
Kangana added that Uddhav gave her a ‘big favour’ as she could relate to Kashmiri Pandits’ plight now. “I knew what Kashmiri Pandits had to go through, but I’ve seen it today. I vow I’m going to make a film, not only about Ayodhya but also about Kashmir. I’m going to rouse my countrymen,’ she had said.
A few days after she attacked Mumbai Police and compared Mumbai to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, the BMC’s demolition of Kangana’s office came. She believed it was an attempt to silence her, vowing to reveal the ‘underhand’ ways of Uddhav and Karan Johar.
