Sonam Kapoor the 1st Indian celebrity to attend Wimbledon finals
Sonam Kapoor will soon become the only Indian celebrity to attend this year’s Wimbledon championships at London’s iconic All England Club.
The actress is recognised for her fashion sense, and it remains to be revealed what she will wear for her Wimbledon 2023 appearance.
The Wimbledon Championships is the oldest tennis tournament in the world and is usually regarded as the most prestigious.
It has been going on since 1877. It is unclear whether Sonam will attend the men’s or women’s singles finals planned for next weekend.
Sonam Kapoor was recently seen at Dior’s Autumn-Winter show during Paris Fashion Week. She was dressed to the nines with a beige Dior trench coat, a beige A-line dress, black brogue shoes, and a black page boy hat.
Sonam had previously attended British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s event at 10 Downing Street to celebrate the UK-India friendship, where she made a fashion statement in a gorgeous pastel green saree with a white overcoat.

Sonam was also the first Indian actress to appear at King Charles III’s coronation concert in England. She was dressed in an off-the-shoulder patterned white gown and gave her spoken word act on stage.
Sonam made her film debut on Friday with the premiere of Blind. In the film, she plays a visually impaired woman investigating a murder case. It was directed by Shome Makhija and premiered on JioCinema on July 7.
She appeared on The Zoya Factor in 2019, before the Covid-19 pandemic and the birth of her and businessman-husband Anand Ahuja’s baby Vayu Kapoor Ahuja last year.
Sonam told ANI about her comeback, “I took two years off because I was pregnant and then wanted to spend some time with my son.” Two years have passed, and I have signed on to two projects – one show and one film – where I will begin work.
Because that is how films work, they will be released in another year. Then I plan to create two pieces of content per year, no more because I also want to spend time with my family.”
