Sunil Gavaskar Former Indian captain has chosen a reasonably secure Mumbai Indians Playing XI, where he has chosen his skipper Rohit Sharma with Suryakumar Yadav to open the innings, followed at 3rd by Quinton de Kock Gavaskar selected batsman Ishan Kishan and the young wicketkeeper, to bat at No. 4, followed by Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, and Kieron Pollard at 4, 5 and 6.

In his MI line-up, leg-spinner Rahul Chahar is the line specialist spinner, having picked three fast bowlers in Jasprit Bumrah, Nathan Coulter-Nile Trent Boult and.

Four-time IPL champions MI may start as one of the favourites or strongest sides to win the IPL 2020, but the team is grappling with a few concerns ahead of their title defence as per Gavaskar.

In two departments, one of which is a lack of experienced spinners, Gavaskar believes MI can struggle.

And very rightly so. MI is the only specialist spinner to have Chahar, though all-rounder Anul Roy and Pandya are more than capable of taking up wickets. But on the surfaces of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah, which have historically assisted spin, it will be essential to see how well MI manages their spinners.

“Yeah, since they do not have the experienced spinners that other parties have, you may say that,” Sunil Gavaskar told Sports Tak. Gavaskar has raised questions about their middle-order, in addition to a lack of depth in their spin department.

MI boasts an excellent middle order in their ranks with the likes of the Pandya brothers Pollard, Yadav, and Ishan Kishan, but what Gavaskar feels could trigger a bit of dilemma is deciding on the positions they’re going to be batting on.

The middle-order is the other element that can be a limitation. They’ll have to wonder who’ll be batting at place No.4 and No.5. If Quinton de Kock plays, it will then open with either Suryakumar Yadav or Rohit Sharma, “stated Gavaskar.

Ishan Kishan could come in at No.4, and he could open the innings as well. Kieron Pollard is permitted to come in at No.5. Perhaps Hardik Pandya could be promoted to # 4. But if it doesn’t happen, who will be playing at No.4?

Sunil Gavaskar’s Playing XI of MI: Rohit Sharma (c), Suryakumar Yadav, Quinton de Kock (wk), Ishan Kishan, Rahul Chahar, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Nathan Coulter-Nile Trent Boult/Mitchell McClenaghan, Jasprit Bumrah.
