Comedian Sunil Pal is back in the news after making fresh claims about the popular comedy reality show India’s Got Latent 2, hosted by Samay Raina. The veteran comic said he had been personally approached for a spot on the show but ultimately turned it down, reigniting the ongoing conversation around the programme’s controversial style of comedy.

According to Pal, Raina offered him a substantial sum close to Rs 25 lakh to appear on the show. However, the comedian said he was unwilling to use abusive or vulgar language as part of his act, which he understood to be a recurring feature of the show’s content. He indicated that despite being encouraged to soften his stance, the show’s format was built around that kind of humour, prompting him to walk away from the deal entirely.

A Fresh Jibe at Alia Bhatt
Pal didn’t stop at discussing the offer. He also took a light-hearted but pointed dig at Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, who had recently appeared on India’s Got Latent 2 to promote her new film Alpha alongside co-star Sharvari. Without repeating his exact wording, the comedian essentially mocked the idea that Alia’s presence on the show seemed to invite crude language, wrapping his jab in a playful rhyme that also referenced controversial businessman Vijay Mallya.

Pal’s comments have since gone viral, triggering a fresh wave of reactions online, with social media users divided between those defending the show’s edgy comedic style and others echoing Pal’s concerns about its tone.
