Tests begin for WhatsApp multi-device support.

After working on it for a long time, WhatsApp has started testing multi-device support, improved search features, chat clearing, and more.

The instant messaging platform is developing a few more nifty features to be provided to customers very soon. WhatsApp keeps upgrading & releases new features almost every other week and as per WABetaInfo – a blog that tracks all the new updates & features of WhatsApp, the social media platform has started tests for a multi-device support feature. The application has also begun tests for other features like chat clearing, improved search, etc.

Multi-device support to be launched very soon:

It is a well-known fact that WhatsApp has been working on a multi-device support feature for almost a year now. The report states the platform is testing its most awaited feature and is planning to launch it very soon. It is being tested for both Android and IOS, said the report. The latest feature upgrade will allow WhatsApp users to log in to more than one device. At present, except for WhatsApp Web, one account can’t be logged in to two devices at the same time. Currently, if the users log in a second device, then automatically they will be logged out from the first device. The latest feature will make multi-tasking easy and users will be able to switch devices very easily.

Other features being tested:

WhatsApp is also developing a feature that will allow its users to search chats by “date” in both group chats as well as individual chat. The report states that this feature is being presently developed for IOS but will also be tested for Android users and it will also work on WhatsApp Web. More features like enhanced Storage Usage, support for ShareChat, new clear chat features, etc. are being tested by WhatsApp.

WhatsApp has provided support to stop the spread of fake news owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, had reduced the forward messaging feature to just one chat.
