The Kashmir Files, starring Anupam Kher, has become the highest-grossing Monday film in Bollywood since the pandemic. The film reportedly made Rs 15.05 crores on its first Monday, beating out biggies like Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi and Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi.
The Kashmir Files, starring Anupam Kher, has become the talk of the town. The movie won the compassion of the audience and resurrected the Hindi film industry’s theatre business. The film, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, was released on March 11, 2022, and has reportedly outperformed Bollywood blockbusters. Such as Gangubai Kathiawadi and Sooryavanshi due to its strong performance on Monday.
Taran Adarsh, a film critic, shared that The Kashmir Files has become the highest first Monday Bollywood grosser since the pandemic. Taran Adarsh stated in another tweet that the film is breaking records and is on its way to becoming a blockbuster. In his tweet, he noted that The Kashmir Files had earned Rs 42.20 crores in the country since its release.
Vivek Agnihotri’s film earned Rs 3.55 crores on Friday, Rs 8.50 crores on Saturday, Rs 15.10 crores on Sunday, and Rs 15.05 crores on Monday, according to Taran.

Kangana Ranaut, a Bollywood actress, also praised the makers of The Kashmir Files for reviving the Bollywood film industry. Some states in the country, including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Goa, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, have declared The Kashmir Files tax-free. Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar, and Pallavi Joshi play the lead roles.
