The Kashmir Files movie: Surpasses Sanju, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and Tiger Zinda Hai to become the seventh-highest first-weekend grosser.
The Kashmir Files, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, is unstoppable! Since its Friday release last week, there has been no stopping it at the box office, with collections increasing daily. The Kashmir Files’ business has grown exponentially since its modest start of Rs. 3.55 crore, with each passing day being more significant than the previous. On Day 6, the film’s collections have increased further, with Rs. 19.05 crore coming in on its first Wednesday.
Interestingly, The Kashmir Files, released initially on only 650 screens, has seen an increase in screens and shows to meet audience demand. Some locations have had performances begin as early as 6.30 a.m. Compared to earlier releases, The Kashmir Files outperformed some big-ticket releases such as Ranbir Kapoor’s Sanju, which earned Rs. 18.90 crore, Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish 3, which earned Rs. 18.11 crore, Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which earned Rs. 18.02 crore, and Tiger Zinda Hai, which earned Rs. 17.55 crore.
The Kashmir Files is now the seventh highest-grossing first-weekend film of all time.
However, The Kashmir Files’ box office performance falls short of previous releases such as Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion, which earned Rs. 26 crore, Dhoom 3, which earned Rs. 25.52 crore, Good News, which earned Rs. 22.50 crore, Kick, which earned Rs. 21.66 crore, Dangal, which earned Rs. 21.46 crore, and PK, which earned Rs. 19.55 crore.
With the festive weekend of Holi approaching, The Kashmir Files’ business is expected to expand even further. At this rate, trade predictions indicate that the Anupam Kher-business starters will be close to Rs. 100 crore by the end of its first week, with collections exceeding Rs. 120 crore by the end of its second week.
