Khichdi 2, the widely anticipated sequel, will now hit theatres this Diwali. The famous Parekh family will provide twice the hilarity and crazy in this new cinematic instalment. The cast carrying on their legacy of nearly two decades of entertaining India. 

The Khichdi 2 release date has been announced:

The producers released a teaser as a date announcement video on Friday. The teaser shows all of the key characters from the popular sitcom. 

Farah Khan, who made a cameo appearance in Khichdi: The Movie (2010), also makes a “super special appearance.” Himanshu explains NRI as MRI, which is a classic Hansa joke.

Khichdi 2 – Mission Paanthukistan, written and directed by Aatish Kapadia and produced by Hatsoff Productions, takes audiences on an exciting roller coaster trip, delving into fresh aspects of the Parekh family’s dynamics. 

It is led by Supriya Pathak (Hansa), Rajeev Mehta (Praful), Anang Desai (Babuji), Vandana Pathak (Jayshree), Kirti Kulhari (Parminder), and actor-producer Jamnadas Majethia (Himanshu). In the sequel, Vandana, absent from Khichdi: The Movie, returns to the Parekh family.

Khichdi, which began as a stage play, is the first Indian sitcom to have evolved into a film and online series and will soon have an adventure comedy sequel. 

Khichdi was a popular 98-episode, two-year-long Star Plus show aired in the early 2000s. It chronicled the antics of a Gujarati joint family living in Mumbai.

Instant Khichdi, a 38-episode second season, aired on Star ONE in 2005. Khichdi Returns, a 23-episode third season, was broadcast on Star Plus in 2018. 

With Khichdi: The Movie, Khichdi became the first Indian sitcom to be converted into a feature film. The adventure comedy sequel will be released 13 years after the first film.

Happy Family: Conditions Apply, a new sitcom Aatish Kapadia and Jamandas Majethia created, is based on a combined Indian Gujarati family living in Mumbai. 

Surpiya’s elder sister Ratna Pathak Shah played a crazy grandmother, Atul Kulkarni as her son, Ayesha Jhulka as her daughter-in-law, and Supriya’s daughter Sanah Kapur as her granddaughter in the series, which premiered on Prime Video India earlier this year.
