Oxford-AstraZeneca, and Bharat Biotech, are likely to officially announce the authorization of two vaccines by the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI).
During the first phase of the vaccination, a free vaccine will be given to 10 million healthcare professionals, including 20 million frontline workers, nationwide.

As the disease tally stood at 10,323,965, Covid-19’s number of reported cases also fell to 247,220, even though the number of deaths in the country increased to 149,435.
The National recovery rate is at 96.15%
The Covid-19 dashboard of the Union Health Ministry at eight is indicated that somewhere between Saturday and Sunday morning, there were 20,923 recoveries, which brought the total count of patients recovered of viral disease to 9,927,310 as well as the national recovery rate to 96.15 per cent.
Approval of Vaccine by DCGI:

Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on the first phase of vaccination:
Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan informed that during the first phase of Covid-19 vaccination, the free vaccine should be provided to the most priority recipients, including 10 million healthcare professionals including 20 million frontline workers, nationwide.
He also cautioned people against falling victim to misinformation and disinformation campaigns about the protection and effectiveness of the Covid-19 vaccine and denied social media rumours.
Vaccination to start soon:
On Saturday, the Union Ministry of Health conducted a national mock drill at 285 session sites to check the planned end-to-end activities and the system created to ensure smooth conduct of the Covid-19 vaccination, which is expected to start soon.
