The Volvo C40 Recharge is all set to rule the Indian market

The all-electric SUV Volvo C40 Recharge from the Swedish luxury automakers has been introduced in India. It will go on sale in August, and deliveries will begin in September.

After launching its fully-electric XC40 Recharge last year, the car will be the company’s second electric product in India.

Volvo business in India:

Volvo Car India sold 2,600 cars last year. In the domestic market, it sold about 1,800 units last year.

Jyoti Malhotra, managing director of Volvo Car India, responded, “We want to cross it,” when asked if the business may surpass record sales this year.

Although there are still supply-side limitations, I am very positive about the demand side.

He added that the average waiting time across models is roughly three months and that semiconductors are the main cause of the supply chain limitations. According to Malhotra, the EVs will be crucial in achieving this year’s record sales.

Thanks to how we do business, the Volvo C40 Recharge will be available soon. We launched our first (electric) car last year with the XC40 Recharge.

We are certain that this will help us attract new customers who will purchase electric cars and help us develop the market, he added. Malhotra continued, “Within our portfolio, we are now close to 27 per cent (of total sales coming from EVs).”

Before its global goal of being an electric car firm by 2030, the company had earlier this year, in February, claimed that it may go entirely electric in India by about 2025.

The firm had announced that it would continue launching one electric vehicle annually in the nation. Regarding our progress towards electrification, Malhotra remarked, “I think we are very much on the right path, and we believe that we will get there much faster.”

He claimed the C40 Recharge was created entirely as an electric vehicle (EV) and offered a 530 km driving range on a single charge.

It boasts twin motors, a 78 kWh battery, and a maximum power output of 408 horsepower.

The car can reach 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds of acceleration. Additionally, it boasts a quick charging capability that allows for a 27-minute 10- to 80-per cent charge.

Like how the XC40 Recharge is put together, the C40 Recharge would be imported in an entirely disassembled form.

XC40 Recharge, an all-electric SUV from Volvo Cars, the XC90, XC60, XC40, and the S90 sedan make up the company’s current India lineup.
